New kiln at Lhoist Bukowa

On Saturday November 4th, 2000, the Bukowa plant modernisation project passed a major milestone on its way to completion, with the ignition of the new 600 ton/day Maerz kiln. "The project is on time and we are delighted that the kiln has now started its warm-up phase. We expect the first quality lime by November 10th," said Stanislaw Rogut, General Manager of Lhoist Bukowa lime plant, speaking at the time.

The decision to modernise the plant was taken two years earlier and the team, under Project Manager Bernard Sornin, expects to complete the work by June 2001 with the installation of a 50 ton per hour Pfeiffer lime mill and pebble lime storage facilities.

The plant expansion project increases Bukowa's nominal production capacity to 1,760 tons per day and makes it the most modern lime plant in the Kielce region, the area in which Poland's highest quality lime deposits are found. The new installation is the first in Poland to offer excellent soft burned lime, including PCC quality, to both local and international customers
