Campus recruiting

Lhoist firmly invests in the future, not just in terms of the environment and our careful use of natural resources, but especially in our people. By visiting secondary schools, colleges and university campuses throughout the world, we invite students to get to know Lhoist and our industry. Our solutions are present all around us and help to make lives more comfortable. We offer students the opportunity to contribute to that in a number of ways.

The way towards us:

The opportunities we offer

Summer jobs

Students perform tasks during their summer vacation. This offers a unique introduction to the processing of lime, dolime and minerals, as well as to the world of work in general. Assignments may be extended to include more specific experience.

As part of your university studies, and as required by your place of education, Lhoist can offer hands-on experience in your chosen field of study and our industry. All internship programs must be approved by your educational institution before they can be considered by Lhoist.

Apprenticeships within a business unit

With Lhoist you have the opportunity to learn specific skills on the job. An apprenticeship contract provides direct field experience in the area of your chosen profession. If you are successful, you will receive a diploma acknowledging your proficiency that will allow you to use the skills you have acquired in a subsequent job.

Apprenticeships are only possible in some countries. Check availability in your area using the job search tool.

Lhoist actively encourages further research into lime and minerals and how they are produced and processed. We therefore support postgraduate students (Masters and PhD) in areas of study that impact or touch our business. All postgraduate projects must be approved by the student’s educational institution before we can consider them.

Why Lhoist?

Getting involved with Lhoist as a student allows you to gain practical work experience in our day-to-day operations and may influence your future career decisions. Opportunities in different departments within the company are made available to students from a variety of backgrounds to suit almost any subject, interest and degree. We promote international mobility, where desired, and cross-cultural awareness. Guidance and support are provided throughout your time with Lhoist. You receive formal feedback at the end of your assignment.

Who we look for

We look for students who are eager to learn and gain knowledge quickly, and who are committed to adding as much value as they can. To get involved you must be enrolled at a school, college or university and, with the latter, need an internship as part of your studies.

The selection process

Our programs are designed to provide a learning experience to help you grow. The following overview provides all information about our selection process:

CV submission

Sell yourself!
We are all unique in our own way; tell us what makes you special. Consider the position you are applying for and ensure that your CV offers reasons why we should consider you for this specific role. Include all relevant skills, experience, training and qualifications which highlight why you are the best candidate. All CVs are pre-screened to ensure an initial best-fit evaluation.

(Phone) interview with line manager

First impressions count. If it is a face-to-face meeting, dress appropriately, be punctual and bring your CV and motivation letter with you in case you need to refer to them. If the interview takes place by phone, find a quiet place to take the call and speak clearly. In all cases, have good examples of relevant experience ready and expect to be asked why you think we should hire you. It is a two-way dialogue, therefore you should also consider whether we are the right fit for you and ask appropriate questions.

Online assessment

Depending on local practice, you may be asked to take an online assessment survey in order to provide us within a clearer picture of how you would fit with a specific role. Be yourself and tell us what you would really do in each given situation.

Confirmation of benefits

Once you have successfully passed the interview and online assessment phases, we will present you with the conditions of our offer.

Background and medical checks

Subject to local practice and legislations, we may need to run a series of checks.
