LEVEL|GREEN®: our low-carbon products

We achieve this progress by avoiding, reducing, and capturing our CO₂ emissions. By storing or using the captured CO₂, we reduce our emissions sustainably. This allows us to offer products with an average product carbon footprint reduction of 80%* compared to standard lime production.

For our customers, LEVEL|GREEN^® means a significant reduction of the carbon footprint within their supply chain (Scope 3) and offers the possibility to substantially support their carbon reduction goals.

With LEVEL|GREEN®, we secure the supply of various industries with low-carbon products in a climate-neutral future.

1. AVOID.

Wherever possible, we avoid CO₂ production. For example by:
Switching our electricity supply to renewable energy;
Reducing input quantities and transportation thanks to increased product efficiency (e.g. Sorbacal® SP);
Substituting primary raw materials with recycled products (e.g. converter lime).

2. REDUCE.

Wherever CO₂ production cannot be avoided, we reduce them. For example by:
Increasing use of secondary fuels (e.g. biomass);
Optimization of our kilns;
Increasing efficiency of transportation routes.

3. CAPTURE.

The production of lime inevitably produces CO₂. But we prevent it from entering the atmosphere.
Our plan: We develop carbon capture, transport, usage and storage solutions with partners to capture remaining emissions and either safely store or use the captured CO₂. This will enable us to sustain lime production in a future-proof way.
