In circulating fluidized bed (CFB) or Fluidized Bed Boiler (FBB) systems, fuel particles are suspended in a hot (800-900°C) bed of fluidized solids. When limestone is introduced into the fluidized bed, it decomposes into reactive CaO, which reacts directly with SO2 during combustion. This in‑bed desulfurization significantly improves SO2 removal performance.
Key benefits
- Efficient SO2 removal integrated in the combustion zone
- Reduced need for downstream treatment
- Improved fuel flexibility and stable operation
Best-fit applications
CFB/FBB boilers burning biomass, waste, or low‑grade fuels.
