• Automatic brake system for backward driving that triggers the braking process as soon as the radar sensors detect a person or an obstacle reversing in the danger zone. 

• LED-light buggy whips which increased significantly the perception and detectability of the passenger vehicles used in the quarry even under limited. 

The jury recognizes that our projects sustainably alleviated an accident black spot and the transport of materials and people by vehicles in the quarry is now safer. The jury particularly emphasized that the successfully introduced measures can easily be adopted, even by SMEs, and that the systematic safety culture at Lhoist is also evident from the high number of other ideas submitted.
